Review on Enhanced XRT500 QWERTY Keyboard: Backlit Remote for VIZIO M-Series Smart TVs by Larry Daniels

FIX: The down arrow (below the OK button) took exactly 14 days. It now becomes unresponsive and renders the entire remote unusable. Several other buttons now follow the same path. We're again using the Vizio app on our phones as a remote control, which is "PITA" and drains our phones' batteries quickly. If Revain wants to send a replacement I will update my review. First Review: When the remote finally arrived, I put the batteries in and nothing happened. After checking and inserting the batteries, I assumed it was defective. But thanks to a review from another Revain customer, I used tweezers to loosen the spring on the positive side of each battery compartment and it worked! (The rear keyboard is backlit so you can easily tell if you have power.) We've had this remote for a week now and it's "aha". I use it, but I'm looking for something better. You have to press the buttons very hard to make them work and the down button has been pretty much unresponsive since day one. It technically works, but if you spend a lot of time searching for channels, expect arm cramps. Seriously, my perfectly normal (not particularly weak) kids CANNOT scroll down with this remote. I can't imagine the down button or any of the buttons lasting long with that kind of pressure being put on them on a regular basis, so I'm hoping to find an alternative remote soon! If you're on the borderline between this and generic, I would lean towards the better generic rather than this poorly made brand. If this is a real Vizio remote then this is hugely disappointing.
