Great way to replace a 3 speed chain switch

Fan speed chain switch failed and became an on/off switch. Replacing the circuit breaker was difficult due to the 10 foot ceiling and above the king bed. very difficult to reach. The fan was originally attached to a wall fan with an on/off switch and separate on/off light although the fan does not have a built in light. Used this switch to replace the fan power switch in a 3-way deep (55 cu in) box with no problems. Can get a bit cramped with a 44 cu in (3 speed) flat box. This is an AFCI bedroom and there is a notice that "may cause harmful interference". Nothing was visible in the first 24 hours and I will report negative experiences here.
