Great product, works as described. The gasket came in a sealed plastic bag in a sturdy, well-packaged, branded cardboard sleeve, even with a LubeLocker sticker which I won't use, but it's a testament to how proud they are of their product and want to exceed expectations . This is a metal reinforced felt gasket with channels of semi-flexible sealant built into the gasket that collapses when the gasket is tightened creating an unrivaled seal. This is the correct seal (which met my expectations) for my recent diff fluid change. on my 2007 Chevy Tahoe. Gasket fits perfectly, no leaks yet. This is despite the fact that my replacement differential cover had scratches and dents on the mating surface. Sincerely believe that this pad saved the day and no other pad could get the job done effectively. The standard backing consists of thin paper or felt. It might work to join two highly polished surfaces but I was at a disadvantage as my replacement cap was defective. Def will be buying LL pads for any future jobs that I only plan to do once.
