Review on Non-Stick Carbon Steel Deep Rectangle Cake Pan With Micro-Textured Finish For Perfect Brownies And Cakes - 9X13 Inches by Etai Gopala

Excellent heavyweight nonstick pan

This is a really excellent baking pan. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but the pan is heavyweight steel and has an unusual textured surface on the bottom that gives the pan nonstick properties as well as leaves food perfectly browned on the bottom. I placed uncooked canned biscuits directly onto this pan, without coating the pan at all. I didn't use any butter, cooking spray, nothing. I was nervous about that as I usually line my other pans with foil AND use cooking spray so biscuits won't stick. After baking, the biscuits didn't stick at all. I was able to lift them right up with my fingers, no spatula needed. As you can see in my photo where I am holding up a biscuit to show the bottom of it, not only did the biscuits not stick at all, the bottoms of them were a perfect, beautiful golden brown.Since then, I have also used this pan for baking a cake and also roasting chicken and a pork roast. Each time it performed beautifully and thanks to its non-stick properties, was very easy to clean. Even the baked-on juices from the pork roast cleaned right off with very little effort. On top of all that, this pan is a lovely champagne color. One reason I tend to avoid nonstick baking pans is because they are usually dark in color and my oven doesn't function well with dark pans. With dark pans, the bottoms of my food burns (or at the very least gets way too brown), even if I lower the baking temperature. With this pan, I can bake at the temperature the recipe recommends, and the food doesn't stick nor do the bottoms burn.Overall, this pan is nonstick without being a dark color, has a solid, heavy weight to it, and cooks food beautifully. The pan's color is beautiful, as well. Recommended.EDIT: I just had to come back and add that I made a pan of cornbread in this pan, and used ZERO grease, butter or cooking spray on the pan. After the cornbread cooled, when it should have been horribly stuck to the pan, I was able to lift the entire slab or cornbread off of the pan. (See photo.) I didn't even run a knife around the edges. The whole thing just lifted right up, cleanly off the pan. Amazing!

This is a nice sized pan for cakes or brownies. This is not, however, a multi-use pan. It requires seasoning and isn’t meant for temps above 400 degrees.I was surprised by all the care instructions. I don’t expect to have to do all if this for a cake pan. I suppose this is because it’s not truly non-slick?Haven’t had a chance to use it yet, but will add comments if it doesn’t perform as expected.
