Review on Staple-Removing Powerhouse: Rack πŸ“Ž Tiers Multi Purpose Staples Remover by Daniel Steele

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The main shark! Seems overpriced but it works. It also makes a good knife.

This is a good tool - the end of its hook looks brittle but it stayed straight and stiff throughout my use (maybe 20 or 30 staples). The finish on the tool wasn't the best - I suspect it was stamped out and I found the edges in profile to be square and uncomfortably sharp. Being me, I went over the edges with 80 grit sandpaper to smooth them out to my liking before using. The geometry of the tool makes removing the staples fairly easy, and the small size of the tool allows the staples to be pulled out without risk of damaging the wire. At the time of writing, the instrument retails for about $25, and at that price, the instrument's finish is quite disappointing. I would expect an instrument like this to cost well under half the $25 with comparable build quality. Finding it for $8 at Walmart or Tractor Supply Company would do the trick. Reading through this review I can say that this probably isn't as good a product as I thought when I started; While writing this review I downgraded my rating from 4 to 3 stars. I think the main reason I'm not frustrated with the cost is because it worked really well for me and the time I spent sharpening the tool was good.
