Doesn't support legs - now I have slippers

I have big, wide, flat feet. I have had plantar fasciitis and related foot problems in the past. I have worn Brooks Addition shoes with great success. They supported my feet well and really helped with some of my foot problems. I've only worn Brooks for many years. Well, Brooks are pretty expensive so I decided to give them a try. First, the size is large compared to Brooks. I had the Brooks 15 which fit me well and gave my feet good support. Fitville 15 and 14 were like huge boats. My size with them was 13. This is not a criticism, just a difference in size. They felt good wearing them indoors in the house. I immediately noticed the lack of support, but thought that maybe everything would be fine. Well after wearing these shoes outside for about 2 hours while walking lightly my feet started to hurt. Real pain in and around the ankle. I don't know how to explain this, I'm not a specialist in legs and shoes. They "slide" down the back and sides of my legs as I walk. I thought it might be because I got the wrong size, but no, a size 13 fits me in these shoes. This was not the case with Brooks shoes - the shoes stuck to the foot while walking and running. This is a real disappointment. I will use these shoes around the house for gardening and mowing the lawn, but I can't use them for walking let alone running.
