I often have to open 3-4 different screens at the same time for work. I bought two ultra-wide monitors for this. The problem started when I realized that monitors only have HDMI inputs and my computer only has one HDMI port. The splitter doesn't work because I can't extend my desktop to both monitors, and neither does the switcher. I ordered and tried to convert VGA to HDMI but it didn't work and after further research I found that HDMI cannot be reliably converted to VGA but it can be converted to DVI. I ordered this little cable and as soon as it arrived both monitors were connected and working within minutes! Since I only use it for spreadsheets and various other work-related displays, I can't comment on the actual picture quality, but as far as I can tell it looks just as good as my other monitor connected directly via HDMI.
