I have tried many drain cleaning liquids, gels and pellets (specifically formulated for stubborn kitchen clogs) to turn off the kitchen sink to no avail. Short of a pipe wrench and ripping, I decided to try this first. What many uses of chemicals couldn't fix, I was able to remove in under 15 minutes. Couldn't be happier. It was tight cutting into my drain holes. Filling is easier than taking out. The trick I found was to pull on the spring so that it wedges into the drain hole at an angle and then screw in the knob. You will feel the tension build up and the spring will soon pop out. Repeat for all feathers. It takes a bit of practice to get the feel of it, but like I said, I managed it in under 15 minutes on my first try. The only thing to note is that the grip is not silicone. It feels like cheap plastic. In fact, mine cracked a bit, either in transit or during use; I didn't realize exactly when it happened. This did not affect the efficiency of the device, but the description in this regard is somewhat misleading.
