Revainrating 3 out of 5

3.5 Stars - Works well but has a few issues with what I'm using it for.

I bought this item to use in my home made stabilization camera (Youtube - Silver Flyer). My opinion on the product: It serves my purposes and I would probably give it 3.5 stars. Not to say I don't like it and it doesn't serve its purpose, just a few minor issues with what I'm using it for. What I found: The thumbscrew to tighten the plate so it doesn't move backwards and the fourth never fully tightens or loosens over time and throws the balance off balance because it moves. I'm afraid to twist it TOO tight for fear I'll break it. Another problem is that the body of my DSLR gets in the way of the screw in certain places, making it difficult to turn. I have big hands and sometimes it's hard to hold. The long camera mounting plate is fine, but I have to position it correctly as the lenses I use sometimes hit the rubber on the plate, making it difficult to zoom and focus. ** I understand this is not the fault of the disk itself, it's simply an output I'm getting from the application I'm using it for. **Thumb screws are great, but the little triangular puff sometimes gets stuck under the platter when you rock the platter back and forth. Nothing really serious, just a minor annoyance. The plate serves its purpose and is very well made. For the price I find it satisfactory. I would have liked it more if there was a better locking mechanism that really restricted movement.
