Some drawbacks: - Occasionally (very rarely), it can lose Internet connection for a while; however, this may not be the device's fault but rather the provider's, the router's, or the abundance of surrounding Wifi networks. - I had no trouble connecting it to the router over 2.4 GHz, but 5 GHz required some "conjuring" on my part, so I didn't bother. - It can't go anywhere with you because it has no portable power source and must be restarted every time you move locations. It would be convenient if there was at least a tiny bit of electricity available within for such needs.
