Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Premium Denso 234-9028 Oxygen Sensor - Optimizing Air and Fuel Ratio for Enhanced Performance by Jake Davies

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Denso = Toyota Heavily discounted dealer part at Revain

When cheaper non-OEM oxygen sensors couldn't read my car's ECU code "Check Engine" I bought identical parts that were in the car . Factory (Denso, the same part sold by Toyota dealers with a Toyota part number at a huge premium). This is the second time this has happened to a family member's car and Denso's sensors have solved the problem on both occasions. Unlike some cheaper generic sensors, they not only meet original specifications, but also last much longer than generic (or Bosch) replacement parts. So they should last 100,000+ miles just like the originals they replaced. If you replace them yourself, it's a relatively easy task. Simply disconnect the wire harness, unscrew the old sensor, screw in the new sensor and reconnect the new wire harness. However, if care is not taken and proper tools are used, the threads can be easily stripped as the heat seems to weld these sensors together over time. I recommend PB Blaster (to avoid tearing the threads) and work slowly on stuck sensors. Use an O2 allen wrench (or an allen wrench in hard-to-reach places on some newer cars) and make sure the force you apply is parallel to the threads. Avoid tightening with a small socket wrench as this tends to force the sensor to "tilt" which can cause the softer metal of the sensor threads to become stuck in the exhaust sensor bore. Avoid this, even if it means using a pry bar or pipe extension. Having to cut threads or pay a mechanic to do it will completely ruin your day. Also, beware of shady mechanics who have been known to remove good sensors and replace them with faulty ones to steal $300 or more from you to fix them. Use a good OBDII scanner that can record all ECU/sensor readings before leaving your car to a mechanic. Then if the bastard tries to scam you, report it to the authorities.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Low repairability
