Strong but reflective tape won't stick

We just got 2 sets of these pads for our camper van. They are very durable but I was disappointed with the reflective tape. Some of them have already come loose from the box, and it looks like someone who couldn't wait for lunch put the tape on. half. If I were to design them, I would make them deeper so that they are more comfortable to wear. However, they are very strong and our mobile home will frighten them. From the packaging they have a strong rubber smell so we aired them out. before storing them in the RV aisle.
