Review on AMZCNC Hydraulic Crimping Electrical Terminal by Steven Saric

Revainrating 3 out of 5

3 stars is average but they work third hand.

The clamp requires 2 hands to operate, making benchtop or under control repairs easy. In the field, they are very difficult to use by one person alone. You have to hold the main handle with one hand and swing with the other. No pressure is applied to the pump handle to bring it back for another compression stroke. A 3rd and sometimes a 4th hand is needed to hold the deadlength collet. I powered up 4/0 and number 8 and compressing the assembly was difficult at best. I have a semi-helpful suggestion: place the collet in the jaws with very little pressure, then gently slide the collet over the stripped wire while holding the tool with one hand. If the tool returns some pressure on the pump handle, it could be a one man tool and far less frustrating. My on/off label is also backwards. In my case, On takes the pressure off and Off allows you to inflate the jaw compression tool.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Almost OK
