This may be the brightest flashlight I've ever had, except, possibly for the large lantern types. (The kind with the handle on top of a horizontal unit.) It isn't the lightest or smallest compact flashlight I've had--it won't fit comfortably in a pocket unless it's a large pocket--but its larger size and weight have resulted in an extremely powerful light. And, by extension, it's very versatile.When you power it on (after charging it), you get the brightest beam; subsequently pressing the power button, which conveniently stays lit green when it's on, will cycle through its different settings--two somewhat dimmer beams, a strobe and (unique in my experience) a strobe that flashes out SOS. If you want to narrow the beam, you pull out the top, and it will narrow or broaden, as you prefer. Another unique feature (to me, in a flashlight like this) is a USB port that allows you to charge other devices with it.For the money, this is a first-rate flashlight, IMO, and one that will be invaluable here the next time the power company shuts off the power.Highly recommended.
