Review on Derwent Pastel Pencils Metal 32996 by Lori Aguirre

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy peasy, smooth and easy!

I love these pens for working in my coloring books. The colors are easy to apply and mix very easily with the silicone color formers that I also bought to use with. Soft formers seem to work best with sharper paper, while hard formers seem to work best with smoother paper. This is counterintuitive to me, but that's what I found. I use a colorless tombow blender to "set" the colors and it works well - I've found that using water, even with a wet brush, tends to result in the thinner paper in my coloring books somewhat warped. I haven't tried any other brand. Pastel pencils so I can't compare them to anything. I chose Derwent because they have a reputation for quality products and I also love and use their Inktense pencils. I wish I had only bought a set of 36 pastel sticks because now I have to buy open stock when I want to finish. Set - I wish Revain would offer ALL of their pencil sets in the public domain at a reasonable price!

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
