Reliable water seal for leaks

My house was built in 1968 with concrete walls. At one point at the back of the house there is a recess in the wall at the top that during heavy rains water collects on the outside of the brick cornice that gallons run down the recess into the basement. your way down to the drain plate at the foot. But as long as the water doesn't go down, the water gets in. At first I thought of building a dam inside and then filling the cavity with epoxy concrete which should flow and adhere to the old concrete, but after reading the package I realized it should only be an inch thick piece. Then I thought of self-leveling caulk, but I still needed a dam to keep it out of the basement. The walls of the basement are uneven on the inside, so installing a foam dam would be difficult. So I bought this tone just for wall lip. Then I wondered if it would be wise to put something in that, if it didn't work, would be difficult to remove. In the end it all boiled down to just using that clay to push through every crack and possible path for water to seep through. It doesn't harden, so it won't break by itself. As long as it's waterproof and easy to remove if needed.

Pros
  • Non-toxic; Meets ASTM D 4236
Cons
  • Requires base
