As other reviews have stated, you need a firmware update to support slow Sck and TPI. The last firmware update for them came out in 2011 so I'm puzzled why they don't ship that update. Luckily it's two packs and they don't need a slow sck to program, so you can just connect them back to back with one of the cables provided, short the JP2 with a short wire, connect the other to the computer and use avrdude to flash one , and then repeat the process in the other direction. However, once that's done these are two excellent AVR programmers for not much more than the cost of one, including cables and 10 to 6 pin adapters.
