Starter works fine and solenoid valve issue fixed. The symptom was when we turned the key we heard a click and that was it. After 3-4 turns of the key, the starter works. The new starter solved this problem as it comes with a new solenoid. The new starter did not come in a plastic bag, which I think should have been. The foam padding inside the box was punctured by the starter during shipping and there was foam dust in the new starter. Wrapping the starter in plastic would prevent the foam from getting into the starter. This is a true GM starter. There was a hologram on the box, which is important.
