I find this tablet amazing. I was looking for an upgrade for my beloved but aging Tab 4 8. It works really well and is a good compromise between weight and battery life. It has a much better (faster) processor than my previous tab, half the RAM, and twice the flash, so it's pretty good in that regard. After turning it on and connecting to Wi-Fi, it updated to Android 10, so it's an improvement over the 4 8, which seems to be stuck at 8.1 forever. Not the last, of course, but a serious upgrade in my case. In Lenovo's usual manner, they are not afraid of their customers "Flash Fastboot, Unlock" but just display an "orange" message for 5 seconds upon boot. Your desktop rescue and management software recognized it and downloaded the Android 10 ROM ZIP file. With the boot.img and vbdata.img included, and the help of the great folks involved at XDA Developers, rooting Magisk was a breeze. Too bad their rescue/management software only works on Windows and not Linux. But under Xen and attaching a tablet with xl it worked. That's right, the star had to be discarded, because: only one loudspeaker. Stereo on "4 8" is pretty good. Angry Birds now sounds uneven in comparison :-) The SD card slot is a tray and you must either use the tool provided or a thin paperclip that has been straightened out to eject it (and they warn you not to do so unless it is is off). In comparison, on the Tab 4 8 you just click on it and it will appear (normal, spring loaded, accept/eject toggle) and you can eject it in the software and delete it at any time, off or not. This makes things like creating a backup on an SD card and then transferring it to a computer more tedious. Yes you can do it over USB at around 400Mbps or over Wi-Fi, but I'd rather do it faster over SD. The tray is handy but tends to stick a bit. A better option might be to use a micro SD card for adoptable storage, not like I use, as then you would have no reason to remove it. Otherwise it's very good.
