tl;dr Use the enclosed English instructions, cross your fingers and it works great. I bought this because I have a vintage trunk that my grandkids love to play with and I'm scared to death they'll get hurt. Contrary to what some reviews say, it does exactly what the seller says - holds the chest lid up and closes very slowly when closed. There seems to have been an older version, which might not have been - this version has a gray plastic thing - slower and works fine. installation problem. It is not easy. Especially if you don't read Chinese. For some reason, the seller only sends instructions in Chinese with measurements supposedly in metric (there are no units, but the numbers look correct). Deep in the listing is a comment to email the seller if you didn't receive instructions in English but no email address. INDEED?!? #SMH Other reviewers reported receiving English instructions via email a few weeks after ordering. I couldn't wait and after looking through Revain's links for about 15 minutes I found a link to email VOCOMO customer service (via Revain, not email). The seller replied within a few hours with English PDF instructions. Everything was visual - very few words, I would hardly call them "instructions". But after suggesting (without good reason) to use the smaller set of "Full Reference Overlay" measurements, I found out that the engravings "L" and "R" mean the side of the chest on which I installed the closer and saw the 5 degree rotation allowed me to attach the mounting plate and the rest was trivial. Since instructions are hard to come by, I converted the PDF to JPG and attached it to this review.
