Like another reviewer, I have used this successfully to connect a 30" Apple Cinema Display (ACD) to a new MacBook Air to connect. The ACD has a dual link DVI output. I connected it to an Apple Mini DisplayPort (MDP) DVI Dual Link Adapter. With this MDP to USB-C conversion cable and another USB to USB-C conversion adapter, I can use the ACD. I have found that I need to connect this cable directly to my MacBook. It was not connected to the hub. However, USB can be connected to a hub. I also found the original resolution on the 30" ACD to be terribly low. To change the resolution you need to open System Preferences -> Display. "
