Review on German Cuckoo Clock 8 Day Movement Chalet Style by Dan Deng

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly as described

My wife and I have been looking for a real cuckoo clock from the Black Forest for a long time. Beware, there are fakes made in Asia and advertised as genuine from the Black Forest. Visit www.black-forest.org to check it out! Manufactured by Kammerer Uhren Hekas, this watch is so certified and is manufactured in Schonach, Germany, in the heart of the Black Forest. On a recent trip to Germany, we were looking for a watch like this, and most of them range from $750 to $1,000 even before they were shipped back to the States. So we didn't buy it. The woman wanted a large chalet with as long "wind" as possible. Luckily I found this beauty at Revain while looking for Christmas ideas. Packaging and delivery were excellent along with the timeliness of delivery. Highly Recommended Two tips: 1. If an item is being shipped from another country, you must account for "duties" for US Customs clearance. UPS (in my case) pays it for you and then reclaims it cash on delivery and you aren't told the total until the guy from Brown shows up at your doorstep. Getting ready; As far as I know our price was in the $20-25 range, I don't remember the exact number. Read the installation instructions carefully. They are translated from German, so English is not very good. There is a lot of "stuffing" offal to be removed 24/7. Secure everything! Enjoy for hours! Make sure you turn off the cuckoo before you go to bed! :-)

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Largely ok, but...
