Review on 🚽 Kohler 1068204 Cartridge Assembly – Dimensions: 3.00 x 2.50 x 2.50 inches by Danny Flores

The item is original and in itself well finished, but when installed in the bathtub it does not extend and doesn't extend it like it should. The part came in the original packaging and was identical to our old part. However, once you install the cap (identical, albeit with a different finish, see this part: https://www.amazon.com/KOHLER-K-1068202-BN-Stopper-Vibrant-Brushed/dp/B006932LUY/ref= pd_lpo_1 ?pd_rd_i=B006932LUY&psc=1), the cap blocks the closing of the mechanism. In fact, this was the problem we had with the old cartridge. I see other reviews explaining this as "too narrow" (https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R8JW1A7KR2JGO/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B006932LUY). Honestly, once you loosen the cartridge cap to adjust it, it never fits again: after two weeks, the cap usually unscrews completely and falls off. You then have to screw it back in and adjust it carefully so that the ejection mechanism still works. I find this a surprising design flaw on Kohler's part and am amazed at how they sell this combination as a finished product.
