Review on Edelmann 92160 Steering Pressure Hose by Darius Glatzel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

At half the retail price, you're saving money for something that works just as well.

I have been suffering from a leak in the power steering for a year and after such a long wait I have finally decided to put an end to it. The first step in this process was to purchase glowing dyes and a UV lamp to put in the power steering reservoir. After learning the leak was from the pressure line, I researched the Revain until I found one that I was keen to buy. Although the job took about an hour and a half, so far I'm happy with the replacement. Here are my thoughts: GOOD: - Item arrived well and securely packaged - Hose came with instructions (albeit limited) and o-rings required - Hose fits as it should - No leaks have occurred since. replaced 1 month ago. - Dealer Half Price ($160) BAD: - There are 2 pieces of rubber permanently attached to my OEM pressure line where the clamps held the hose in place. This replacement was not there. I cut off the old ones with a razor and was able to put them on the new hose. I believe this will work fine but it should be noted somewhere in the description or added to future hoses. The guide tells you what to do but could be a bit clearer. NOTES: I replaced this hose with a 2006 Honda Accord 4 cylinder 4 door sedan. Another reviewer described an instant howl after a hose change. This is expected. This is the sound of air in the line. You need to let the air out, and that will eliminate that noise. You can google these methods, but one option is to slowly turn the steering wheel all the way to the right, turn the car off for as long as you like, then turn left, and so on. If you do this every day, the noise will go away within the next few days. There may be faster methods, but this worked for me. In conclusion, I assume that if you buy this hose, you will change this yourself. This is a fairly easy task, but it will be a bit difficult due to the location and limited space. The best I can recommend is to lie down (carefully) on top of the motor so you can reach backwards to change the hose. Be patient and you can do it yourself. Much luck!
