Exactly what I was looking for! Direct installation. Easy to deploy and repackage. I bought three of these and installed them in a 3 bedroom apartment on the third floor. I sleep well at night knowing they are in every bedroom and can be used by a 4 year old in an emergency. If you are serious about giving your occupants a chance to survive a fire, this is the ultimate rescue system. Don't be fooled into thinking that first generation ladders are "good enough". Without the daily practice of removing the ladder from the box, manually unfolding and securing the window railing, and untangling the chain ladder, the panic and commotion in the smoky bedroom at 3 a.m. is unlikely to materialize. Not to mention that the ladder inside the box could accidentally be moved to a different location than agreed. The Werner ESC330 will always be where you left it (under the window), it has been pre-assembled to the structure of your home. And it just needs to be thrown out the window to be used. The ladder is made of durable seat belt material and metal rungs. My wife flipped the ladder easily with just a few verbal instructions.
