Review on ๐Ÿ”ฆ Yosemite Home Decor JK101-11SN Flush Mount Ceiling Light with Marble Glass Shade, Satin Nickel Finish, 11-Inch Size by Jill Jones

Great product and I don't even have to add "for the price " because they should cost more.

I was hesitant to buy it at first after seeing what some of the reviewers had to say but I made the purchase and I'm glad I did. While installation was a little awful, the product looks great and goes well with the $50 sets we've had before. Although I can definitely tell you which of the lights is of higher quality in a direct comparison, otherwise I wouldn't have noticed it. The only telltale sign is that pricier lights have design cues that seem intentionally hard to manufacture (although they don't directly detract from the overall aesthetic qualities) and slightly softer finishes. The marble dome is almost identical. Since other reviewers have pointed out installation issues and this was the most frustrating part for me, I'll talk about some of the issues I had. I installed my fair share of these things and I can tell you this was the most needless annoyance for me. I got the parts I needed: I had all the screws (two for the frame and two to attach the base), I had the bracket, I had the post and knob, and I had the instructions - I proceeded with the installation away. The only thing of value in the guide was the schematic of the device and I only referred to that after questioning my setup as stated below. I would recommend not even trying to read them - they will only confuse you. I removed my old device and started installing the mount. I realized that because of the shape of my case, I don't have the luxury of using all four screws. I would have to use longer ones to attach the bracket to the case. This is where the "unnecessaryโ€ irritation comes into play. The included screws were barely long enough, but it took me a long time to figure it out. In the beginning I did what I normally do. I attached screws with enough threads to secure it and proceeded to attach the base plate. This is a type of keyhole where you have to push the heads of a bolt or screw through a hole and then twist to fasten it. This had to be done with both screws. I've tried a few times and failed as I didn't see the bolt at all. "Are they too short?" I thought. I stuck a screwdriver through one of the keyholes, pryed off the insulation (I had to wear gloves) and pointed it at the screw while I pushed the baseplate up. I looked and saw that there was a significant gap between the top of the base and the head of the screw. I loosened the screw as far as I was comfortable and tried again. I didn't see how many times I did this until I finally moved the screws to where they were almost literally hanging from the threads. I managed to get the baseplate up to the head of the screw only for the screw to fall off. It took me a hell of a long time to finally be able to get them both through enough and still hold them together to screw them up and secure everything. I feel all of this could have been avoided by adding just an extra 3mm of screw. God. While I wish they had slightly longer screws and the insulation could be a little better secured to the base, even after installation the product looks great and we had no issues with it. I'll probably buy more of these for the top floor (although I'll also add a bag of screws).
