Review on Toyo Observe G3-Ice 285/60 R18 120T winter by Barbara Polak ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I'm happy with it, the price and the quality, I recommend to buy it.

I have an Observe G3-Ice 185/70 r14, made in Malaysia. We have not yet snowed, but the temperature does not rise above 2g of heat. They said that this time is great for running in. I've been driving it for 5 days now. Above 60 km / h, a rumble begins, but not very loud. I drove 600 km of a calm and careful ride, today I noticed that at least two spikes are already missing on the front wheel. And the spikes themselves are no longer of the same type (many are flattened). We will wait for snow and check its qualities on snow and ice. I want to add a review! Departure on this rubber for 4 months, and like any rubber has its pros and cons! what I didn’t like was that it behaves badly in a rut even at a speed of 20 km / h. Later, when talking with a sales consultant, it turned out that it was necessary to take a tire width of 195 for my car. I have a Toyota Caldina 4wd, I thought that due to the absence or minimal slippage during the start of movement, the spikes would last a long time . but in reality it turned out differently. What I was very pleased with was the absence of a rubber rumble!) Before that, I went on breeches (Velcro), if comparing them by the rumble, they are very similar. I think next year I will change to the same model, but in size 195/60 R15. By the way, on ice, I would put 7/10. but maybe it's because of my braking system. The end of summer is coming and I decided to prepare winter tires for the season. I turned to the store where I bought it for studding. On average, 10-15 spikes flew out of each balloon per season. As a result, 93 new spikes were installed on my rubber. Such a large number is also associated with the replacement of worn and bent spikes. As a result, taking into account the discount, the studding cost me 1500 (18 per piece). The sellers were very surprised at the quality of the spikes, they say that this is the first time such a thing has been observed for this rubber! So I don’t know what is the reason for this outcome? (Either it really depends on the manufacturer, or it’s just unlucky .

Pros
  • Price, noise
Cons
  • Spikes fly out quickly, leads poorly in a rut
