After fighting with Netgear and Linksys, I decided on this router. I regret my decision. This router doesn't do well in my closet and literally needs a constant fan to keep it cool (no kidding, even in the winter with no heat). When I try to turn off the fan, the router overheats and the WiFi is lost (wired devices and connected WiFi routers remain connected). When I try to increase the WiFi N to 450MB per second, I get disconnected from the network on all my devices, so the higher speed I get is around 200MB per second. Another thing to note is that despite the claims, the range is no better than a mid-range router. I am very dissatisfied with this router. After all this wasted time I am extremely dissatisfied with Netgear and will return to Linksys once this router goes down. [Update] Even after almost a year of owning this router, it hasn't improved since the firmware update. It actually got worse. It keeps disconnecting and stopping providing Wi-Fi. Its range is as good, if not worse, than my seven-year-old $70 Linksys router. I've had more issues with this hardware than anything else I've had. I will never buy a Netgear again and recommend you do the same.
