Review on π Plextor PXL-910S Professional Internal SATA DVD/CD Writer Drive - Bulk Pack (Acumen Disc Edition) by Tim Wilske
Good drive, fast, but be careful with SATA connectors!
When I first unplugged the SATA data cable, part of the drive connector broke off and mated the cable, rendering both the Plextor drive and the cable unusable. Did you use fragile plastic? I fixed it with a spare cable, hot glue and a lot of fiddling. Workstation Dell Precision T3000 Linux Mint. The drive is a little loose in the Dell because it slides in without tools, but it doesn't vibrate.
