My 11 year old son bought this for his amazingly physical team games while traveling and I'm so glad he got it because like his mum I cringe a lot. The men's small sneakers are a bit too big for him (he's wiry), but he also has the brand's knee pads and we were impressed with both. We've tried other brands and many of them break on the second or third fall. This brand has been the best so far. A few games ago he dove for the ball, skidded across the floor on his knees and rolled into the stands. No cracks! Thank you McDavid for comforting my child while making him feel cool. If these products looked like his mother wrapped him in blisters, he would never wear them!
