I could easily combine it with smart things. I ended up using a device handler for the dome siren. This device handler was automatically selected when I added the device since I already had a dome siren. If you need a device handler, google it. If you don't know how to load a custom device handler into the SmartThings IDE, this siren probably isn't for you. Another reviewer said it doesn't come with a power cord. This is because it is powered by USB or battery (batteries included). It's Micro USB. The alarm clock is loud enough that I was able to get all calls working using the dedicated monitoring app in smartthings. This is the second Zwave siren I have. The first is a brand called Dome. She is very similar to this siren. This siren has many different sounds to warn you when something happens. We installed various bells for the front door, back door, refrigerator and also the gate. If the child has left the fridge open for more than 2 minutes, the alarm will sound. With a little knowledge, this works perfectly. I am very happy with it.
