Something heavy designed to attach to air vents has never worked for me, but this device is holding up quite well. It didn't come with instructions so the first day I pulled my phone out of the holder like an idiot until I realized that touching the back of the device freed the phone. The clamps respond well and open when the phone approaches, but often clamp too quickly before I can center and prime the phone. I've found that the device gets quite warm when I'm holding the phone and charging fairly slowly. Otherwise I think it's worth the money and it's convenient, no fiddling with cords or plugging in a phone. I have an Otterbox-like cover on my phone and it's not a problem. I'd like other colors, but that's not critical.
