Review on Arducam for Raspberry Pi Camera: Interchangeable CS Mount Lens for Pi 4, 3, 3B+ | 5MP OV5647 1080P by Donnell Cursed

Big. I will buy one of these again.

I am very happy with this camera. Better than the standard Pi Camera as you get a bit more clarity, focus and the ability to switch lenses. I set up a live and recording server on a Pi 2 to record and/or stream my lectures (I'm a college professor). I've also used it to capture and stream various images and videos. Works out of the box, works well, has no conflicts with the system. It works just like the official Pi Camera - if you're familiar with it or following the Raspberry Pi manual, it will work. If you're running it on a 1 amp supply or less, your typical wireless USB dongle won't work. It has to do with how the Pi distributes power. When I connected the Pi2, this camera and the Tenda dongle, the Tenda Wireless stopped working. When I switched the power supply to 2 amps everything worked. The camera reserves a lot of power, as does a USB device that "requests" more power. Compared to a standard Pi camera: it's the same CCD. Colors, white balance, etc. remain the same. Pi-Port currently only works with this CCD. The board is larger and the lens adds size and weight - won't fit in a standard Pi camera body. The lens is focused but the screw needs to be loosened. It can be replaced by a knurled screw. The lens adds some sharpness to the image. It's not a big difference, but noticeable. The biggest plus is that the mount fits many lenses with this type of mount. Switchable to Tele, Fisheye etc. I like this camera better than the standard model. Don't expect it to be a DSLR, though. It's an improvement, but it's still a Raspberry Pi and not a camera. Enjoy
