Review on Upgrade Your Gaming Experience with SteelSeries Arctis 5 - RGB Headset for PC and PlayStation 4 - White [2019 Edition] by Jeong Hoon (Kim) ᠌

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The purchase did not justify itself at all.

In total - almost everything bad that is in these headphones is absent in the Arctis 1 model. If you want reliable long-lived ears - buy them better. If you look for pluses regarding Arctis 1, then here: - Connect via USB. When I started to contact the audio jack in my laptop, it was very helpful. - Backlight. Well, pretty. But you quickly stop noticing it. The backlight of the microphone is comfortable. - If you have a wide head, the Arctis 1 may be too tight. These are wider or softer a little.

Pros
  • Good sound (little bottoms, but excellent detail and position), comfortable, good idea with a retractable microphone, its backlight, etc. Convenient channel control. In general, in general - good ears, but for this money you already start asking questions - and there is something to ask about them. The younger model - Arctis 1 - costs almost half as much, and is generally BETTER. Because the sound and the microphone are the same, but the design, you won’t believe it, is stronger.
Cons
  • - Poor design of retractable microphone inside. I naively believed that the wires do not twist when removed and the microphone can be removed every day, as needed. Fig there - died about a year later. Having disassembled the headphones, I realized that the retracting mechanism just slowly kills it - the wire, of course, twists around its axis at the moment of retracting. Of course he died - and you will die. If you want your ears to last for many years - DO NOT REMOVE THE MICRO unless absolutely necessary! - Proprietary wires. When the cat bit through the wire, I had to pay a couple of thousand to replace it - after all, they are not sold in 2022 (( - The soft elastic band on the head for the same year of operation stretched to a state of uselessness. It seems that someone wants to make money on consumables) But I overcome without it. - The microphone is directional and depending on small changes in its position, your listeners will enjoy breathing, sniffing, smacking. To prevent this from happening, it is better to direct the microphone a little bit past the mouth, but this is a little annoying to follow. - The volume control per channel is conceptually good, but IMHO turns too easily. On average, a couple of times a day you will accidentally touch it with a wire or hand - and then think why everyone is silent in the chat)
