I never gave much thought to which glass to use until I attended a Riedel wine glass tasting course. The right glass made me believe that a good Chardonnay is really worth the price. Wow. Dry Oregon Rieslings have always been great, and noticeably better in the right glass. Rose and Shiraz glasses are a gift (hope my husband isn't reading this review!) but I expect our New Year's Eve toasts to be even tastier. What they say is true: all Riedel jars are very light, more durable than you think and get cleaned regularly on the bottom shelf (most are too big for my top shelf) without breaking or tarnishing. Place some wrapped chocolates in your old heavy wine glasses, tie a bow around the stem and give them out as party favors. I have made.
