Review on 🍡 Nambu Ironware Oigen Tetsubin Kettle Maromi Arare H-143 from Japan by Diane Haney

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent working tetsubin without enamel

This teapot is very well made with no ceremony or embellishment. This is a utility pan with some rare lower quality patterns (e.g. not sharp or higher raised). The boiler works well and boils water quickly. Since I will not use this pot for 50 years and will pass it on to my children, I do not hesitate to use an induction cooker. and bring the water to a boil briefly) and bring the pan up to temperature more slowly. I did that and everything went smoothly. The pot emits only a slight smell of iron after boiling water for an hour several times, and no other smell. The new one didn't have an unpleasant odor either. I recommend this kettle to anyone looking for a functional kettle to heat and boil water. Buy a small portable induction cooker if you want to keep your kitchen clean, boil water faster, and have a more private tea ceremony/session somewhere else. Finally, the seller sent quickly and without problems.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • No insurance
