This cooler has 5 fins while the Canakit cooler has 7 fins. I have an upward blowing cupcake fan that sits on top of the case with no lid. Maybe thermal tape on a Canakit heatsink is better. I'd try using thermal paste instead of tape, but it's impossible to hold the heatsink in place without modifying the spring.
