Throw away all your old caps
I'm glad Canon switched to these type of caps on their lenses - they are so much better than the old ones that they should be replaced, especially on glass, that you care about. I've always worried about pulling the edge of the lens cap over the glass with old caps jammed in, especially when using lens hoods. This completely eliminates this clamping and lifting problem. The only slight downside is that it's a bit thicker than the old type. Spend β¬10 and you're done!
