Great product for lens caps

This cap was originally purchased for a 70-200mm lens. It fits the lens perfectly; However, it was very tight when the lens was inserted into the housing. My 24-70mm lens had no lens cap and was the same diameter as the 70-200mm lens. So I ordered a side connector (thinner) for 70-200mm and used it for 24-70mm. It worked great. Definitely recommend getting a 70-200mm lens side cap if you plan on putting your lens in the pouch that usually comes with it.

Throw away all your old caps

I'm glad Canon switched to these type of caps on their lenses - they are so much better than the old ones that they should be replaced, especially on glass, that you care about. I've always worried about pulling the edge of the lens cap over the glass with old caps jammed in, especially when using lens hoods. This completely eliminates this clamping and lifting problem. The only slight downside is that it's a bit thicker than the old type. Spend €10 and you're done!

Lens cap deluxe! on camera and photo

I have used non-OEM center clamp caps (like Marumi) for years because they are easier to install and remove than the side clamp caps Canon has been selling for decades. In addition, center clip caps are easier to use with lens hoods. So I was glad Canon saw the light of day and bought me a pair of these logo caps. And yes they are better than the old factory caps and work great. However, Canon's clamp mechanism is a little tight and awkward to attach at first, but loosens up after a few months.

Less likely to be confused.

The original lens cap for my 24-105mmL lens was knocked off in a dark parking lot on a rainy night and I couldn't find it anywhere. Having owned various DSLRs/lenses for over 6 years this is the first time I have lost a lens cap - temporarily out of place but never lost permanently before! I was surprised at the price of genuine Canon interchangeable lens caps and did some comparisons. Purchased but was leery of purchasing a third party cap due to fit and finish issues. This snap-on cover seems

Mark II Lens Cap on Lens Accessory

Get 100% better photos with these genuine Canon lens caps. It just doesn't work without it. But seriously. They protect the most valuable thing in your camera bag. your glass! Do you have to have them? no Can you do without? Yes. Are you more likely to put on lens caps when you're done? Probably no. (old habits are hard to break). Are they overpriced? Which Canon product isn't? (and don't say fifty sparingly) FYI: They're thicker than previous lens caps. At least twice as thick. Something to…

Faster and easier with lens caps

I didn't really pay much attention to lens caps until I switched to DSLR video. I know a lot of professional photographers don't like lens caps and prefer the speed of running and shooting, but I want to protect thousands of dollars worth of lenses when they're not in use. And it's a good thing I did because a few months ago I returned late one night after a long journey, grabbed my camera bag (Tamrac 5788 Evolution 8 Photo/Laptop Sling Backpack Bag (Black)) and slung it over my shoulder…
