Review on 🐙 CoralVue Octopus BH-2000 Aquarium Filter with External 2000 Pump - Ideal for 125-Gallon Tanks by Michelle Ocampo

This is by far the best HOB protein skimmer I have ever bought. I bought this skimmer after making a huge mistake buying a Seaclone 100 type skimmer. I learned the hard way that skimmers don't come cheap. I assembled this skimmer with no problems, although the instructions aren't great. It took me a while to get the skimmer working but let me tell you once I got it working man this thing is amazing. I started getting skimmed, I would say within an hour of setting it up, and this thing pulled out more skims in 24 hours than my Seaclone 100 ever had. I haven't had any leaks and have read that some people find it noisy, but in my opinion it's not noisy at all, much quieter than the Seaclone 100. I like that the pump is outside the tank. I'm dealing with a lot of bubbles on the exhaust pipe, but I suspect it's not completely busted yet, and the filter sponges that come with the skimmer drastically reduce the amount of bubbles getting into the tank. I'm sure these blisters will go away after a break-in period and maybe some adjustments to the junction box and intake and exhaust pipes. If you're looking for a great HOB protein skimmer at a pretty cheap price, stop looking and get this skimmer.
