I was planning to buy them for Thanksgiving (which we celebrated earlier this year) and maybe use them again for Christmas, but it's definitely only once and the gold will come off after eating. on it or after you wash it. They definitely did their job and I got a lot of compliments from family members who thought they were real ceramic plates until they got close and touched them. I will buy them again for Christmas.
