This hood was installed in our annex and cut into the outer cladding. When the doors started to crack and break after only a few years, we had to think about what to do. Replacing the entire unit with a more durable model would require significant fairing removal, replacement, caulking and repainting - I wasn't expecting that! Luckily we found an exact match on the Revain and were able to pull out the old brittle valves and replace them with new ones. We'll probably have to repeat that in the future because the material is definitely worse. Our cooker hood isn't even in a sunny location, so you can't blame sun exposure for embrittlement and premature failure.
