Matches great, rich pigment and blends smoothly with these oil based crayons!

First of all I would like to say that I buy pens from unknown brands to try them out and maybe find a quality budget pen that I can recommend to people and also more likely to be used for coloring use your professional pencils. These pencils are very similar to the Deli brand pencils from Japan which I like a lot so I decided to try them. I was a little worried at first when I started making patterns because some of the lighter colors seemed a little waxy but when the pins go over the line they can get razor thin and there's a lot of lead glued down the barrel so that's it always good idea to sharpen them to make sure lead is not coated. I was more pleasantly surprised by the styling of these pens and could definitely tell they were more oil based. Now ALL crayons contain wax which is part of the shape retention/binder formula then they can be more oily or fully waxy. They definitely feel and apply like they are oil based. I could layer it layer by layer! Even after polishing and pressing as hard as I could I didn't even break the tip, I put a different color on top and it still took on more color! Of course there was no bloom and the colors are bright. The pencils are very dry to the touch, not as soft as Prismacolor, but they are firmer. I would say they are between Polychromos and . Derwent drawing pen, one of my new favorites. Disadvantages of this set - only color ranges. I would like more skin tones and more light tones. There are many deep colors in the set. It would also be nice to add more yellows and browns. The pen feels very light in the hand, thanks to the wood. This is an issue to be careful with, but as long as you have a good pencil sharpener you should be fine. Wood is not easy to sharpen. Overall I really like these pencils, they blend beautifully and go beyond 10 layers and go on!
