These crayons come in a very sturdy metal box. They are fairly light in color and of excellent quality. My daughter Ed loved them as a Christmas present! Five stars !

I'm always looking for a good replacement for Faber Castell pencils (oil based). These pencils are very similar: light, creamy, well shaded but not overgrown, excellent packaging. These pencils have color names on them, yes! This will be my street set as my FC is under permanent construction. I love them and would rate them an 8+ overall. They are inexpensive.

Only 3 stars, good colors, silky feel when inked, glides across the page. The big problem is leads. More than half the pencils I've used have lead breaks after sharpening with the T'gaal sharpener. It took me 4-5 tries before I could use the pencil. I have one that went back to normal size in one day and became too small to color in, others are already getting small as well. As gently as possible? sharpen, maybe they work for you.

The reviews led me to believe this would be an affordable way to experiment with soft pigments. First I used a purple pencil and had to press hard to get the desired effect. I sent the pens back. I didn't rate the cleanliness as the truth would have been 5 stars and would have upped the rating. The right question should be about the proportion of pigments. I understand you get what you pay for and while the kit isn't a waste, it shouldn't be called soft-core pigments.
