It seems like people stuck to the carrying case instead of the monopod itself and mistakenly downgraded the item. We buy the monopod here, the bag is just an additional accessory. I looked at several and much more expensive options before deciding to try this monopod mainly based on reviews, low price and ball head already included! When shooting with a Nikon D750 on a 70-200 f/2.8 or a Nikon 200-400mm f/4 lens, a monopod is essential to get clear images of distant, fast-moving subjects, especially in low light. I prefer the portability of a monopod to tripods for shooting with a telephoto on the go. Can't wait to try it out shooting 70-200mm weddings this season! I have used a monopod with and without three legs. Since I don't leave my gear unattended on a monopod like I would on a tripod, I found that the legs weren't necessary for photography. HOWEVER, I have found the detachable feet to be very valuable when using them when shooting with a crop sensor DSLR or GoPro. I can't go wrong with the price. If you don't like it, do an expensive setup and use it as a backup. As I own half a dozen other tripods I use one of their carrying cases when I need more than what comes with them.
