Important note. Have you ever seen an Accord with a lower ball joint cut off? Usually right after exiting a stop sign or traffic light? This is a known problem on some Hondas, at least the 96-98 models. If this ball joint fits your car, then this problem concerns you. Due to the design of the suspension, the ball joint shaft may flex during movement in the forearm recess through which it is inserted. This will gradually expand the LCA and increase ball joint play. This extra play causes ball joint shaft fatigue and crackling, causing the ball joint to fall off without warning. The reason I mention this; Recognizing this problem, Honda recalled the bike many years ago and replaced the factory LCA and ball joint combo with a significantly heavier kit. This doesn't fix the physics behind the problem, but it does put a stronger set of parts in place. I just got one of these Moog ball joints removed from my Honda after about 30km. The shoe was worn and the ball was holed. I compared the Honda OEM replacement ball joint to this Moog. The Honda OEM ball joint literally weighed twice as much as the Moog. To be clear, the Honda ball joint is a lot heavier than this Moog part. Here are some tips on how to avoid this lifting problem on Honda and Accuras. If you buy Moog ball joints, buy a Moog LCA. Install them together. Same for OEM, compare Honda BJ to Honda LCA. I also bought a Honda LCA from this care. They are heavier than the Moog LCA for this car, not twice as heavy. Support the struts, bushings and anti-roll bar parts. These parts are responsible for the secure fixation of the wheel. As these parts wear out, the life cycle assessment of the ball joint is increased and the time for this displacement to occur is reduced. What does all this mean for this Moog part and the 3 star rating? Here it is. Otherwise, if you have good suspension, fitting these Moog ball joints along with the Moog LCA will surely net you about 30,000. At 35,000, the ball joint was taken out of service. On the other hand, if you are installing Honda OE ball joints with new Honda OE LCAs, you should get 75,000 off the ball joints before replacing them. I had a complete rejection of the factory @ 110 recall replacement kit. Then you should get another 75,000 of new Honda ball joints. Give at least 150,000 on an OE-LCA, maybe even a 3rd round of ball joints. The key is replacing the ball joint before it is needed and maintaining the overall condition of the above parts.
