RAID drives etc - Poor design if you document and disconnect every day.

If you are looking for a docking station to place your Mac Book Pro 15" with TB on it, this one is sufficient BUT: - Unstable connection - Slows down the speed of all connected devices If you connect more than one slow device to the same USB 3.0-USB 3.1 chain Unstable, I think it might be my fault because I use it a lot with drives, audio interface, RAID drives etc. Poor design if you use it document and disconnect every tag.is lost, so I recommend locking it with a locking system on the back - I suspect any problems in my device may be caused by the lack of amps in the power supply.I use several bus powered devices. rebooted my new mbp with tb in recovery mode 3 times and reinstalled the system after doing a normal apple update e had done on my system. After I updated the system files, the computer came back with the monitor positions reversed. I restored the system and all hell broke loose. I undocked my PowerBook and it failed to complete startup. I tried resetting VRAM (opt cmd PR). I tried resetting motherboard controllers (failed) so I had to reboot into recovery mode and reinstall OSX all 3 times. I believe that the dock mimics some kind of hardware that causes an incompatibility with the computer's hardware and causes it to crash on the next boot. My suggestion: Turn off your computer before performing an update. I have 7 Macs so I have little experience with them. I'm not a genius, but I'm not stupid either. Bottom line: this is going to cause you some trouble, but if you enjoy fixing things up and figuring out the best way to connect your devices to another device, this dock is for you. If you want a bit of intelligence, try something else. All my comments are based on my heavy usage. it might not cross your mind if you're just connecting an external monitor or a few drives. It's not worth the money you pay. Best regards, Silvio Richetto
