Good and nice brush set

I haven't had a chance to paint with these brushes but out of the box they seem nice and strong and the bristles grip the ferrule well. My husband and I both paint and have a lot of experience and the prices are definitely lower than I expected given the quality. The case is good, there is velcro on the back of the brush holders so you can pull them out of the case for easier access to the brushes. It has a carrying strap that kind of reminds me of a CD case (for those of you old enough to know what that is). The spatula itself doesn't have a mount, but when closed it sits comfortably in the center of the case. I was under the impression (through my own fault) that the case would "stand up" on, say, a table, but it didn't (pun intended), but it wasn't a deal breaker or anything, I was just assuming lol. Aesthetically they are really nice to look at and give the feel of a more expensive brush set. I usually buy brushes individually, but I needed new brushes asap and decided to give it a try. So if you are just starting out or need a new set of brushes I would suggest giving it a try. My kit didn't come with a sponge, but the art I make doesn't require one, so nothing special to me. Edit: My husband had a chance to paint with this, pictured is a 5" x 7" canvas using Gamblin oil paints from 1980. Works very well, brushes clean well.

Pros
  • Arts, crafts and sewing
Cons
  • Not as thick as other brushes
