I have a Roomba 980 iRobot that is 6 months old. It was ridiculously expensive but I liked it. This is one of my true expenses. But I don't spend money on filters. I can't tell you how much I resent companies charging ridiculous prices for their branded consumables when it seems like everyone else can do the same for a lot less. If I already gave you about a thousand for a car - stop being greedy for those filters. I usually go straight to aftermarket filters, but in this case they didn't work for me. I was excited to try them out - and they even had small screens on one side which I thought would be a great filter protector because it could be erased. Almost as a pre-filter. Well I put one in and my rumba stopped working in less than a minute before stopping and giving me error 11. I took out the filter, wiped the dust and cat hair off it, and tried again. There are no dice. I put my old one back (dirty but original) and it worked fine. I pulled this one out and thought maybe the problem was with the screen - I cut off the screen on one of the new ones and tried again - every now and then I got this stupid error 11. I assume the airflow is a little different? Whatever it was my Roomba wouldn't catch with it so now I'm back in the market looking for another filter that will fit my wallet perfectly and will make my 980 happy.
