Review on Silver/White Streamlight 66121 Stylus Pro PenLight with 100 Lumens, White LED and Holster by Matthew Henderson

I bought the Streamlight Stylus Pro Penlight based on the many great reviews both here at Revain and on various online forums. The high power LED flashlights are only available in a standard black anodized aluminum finish. The Stylus Pro looks great in this finish, almost like a large aluminum pen. The finish is actually silver, but it's not a silver color. Rather, it's the aluminum trim itself. I think it might hold up better than black anodized in the long run, but who knows. So far this light has been great. It claims to put out 24 lumens for 7.5 hours. The best part is that this sleek little flashlight runs on two AAA batteries! Great. I compared the light of this flashlight with Fenix E01 (1 x AAA) and Fenix L1T v2.0. The E01 is only rated at 10 lumens and isn't designed to produce strong outdoor light, so its brightness can't match. I would say that at the lower of the two output levels the L1T appears to be as bright as the Streamlight, if not a little brighter. So I would say that a lumen rating of 24 lumens might be a bit optimistic. However, considering its small size and being powered by AAA batteries, it is a very bright flashlight. The light beam has a good central point that offers decent portability as well as a fair amount of spread for a general headlamp. It's also a good compromise in terms of a light that's bright enough to light up the road outside at night and bright enough to use indoors and/or map reading etc. is activated by pressing a button forward on the Rear activated (currently on) and not by the usual movement of the pan head. It's almost impossible to find on slim AAA battery operated flashlights. This is what makes Streamlight so easy to use, especially since there is only one light level and only one mode: ON or OFF. The only minor downside is that this light doesn't stand backwards. It also comes with a ballistic nylon base holder and a black clip that you can see in the photo. Great product at a great price. I will be buying more for gifts and I'm sure they will be a big hit.
